Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

John and Bonnie stopped by to chat this week. Bonnie is working at the local hardware store this summer. She says she loves her job. John is mining for gold. He says he's doing well. Not only is he getting gold, he's finding jade.

Is gold mining right for everyone? Of course not. Just like sitting at a desk, working on a computer isn't for everyone. Nor is dealing with tourists every day a good fit for some. Not everyone has the certifications to be a pipeline welder or an emergency room nurse. Some RVers can't be on their feet all day to work as construction flaggers. Some folks would starve if they had to make their living giving speeches. But, all of these things are right for some working RVers. Working RVers are a wonderfully diverse group of people!

As you go through our Workers On Wheels newsletters and website, you'll find information on all sorts of work that RVers can do -- and are doing.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

P.S. They are still hiring for the sugar beet harvest in North Dakota. If you can drive truck, check out this Help Wanted ad on Workers On Wheels website.

Working RVer Tip -- Personalize Your Resume with a Compliment

Remember that compliment your boss gave you? Include it on your resume. It's a bit of personalization that can make your resume stand out above the others. Ask permission first, though, because it is the polite thing to do and because it will remind him that he said it.

I Could Have, I Should Have -- Someone Else Did

This article is part regret and personal disappointment. It's part accolades to a fellow RVer for his working-while-RVing accomplishments. Most of all, I hope it is inspiration for you to start -- and to finish.

Working RVer Tip -- Have a Talk with the Boss

If you are unhappy with your campground work situation, talk to the owner or manager about it. Just discussing the situation could improve things. It may also be that together you decide it would be best to cut your stay short.

Working RVer Tip -- Beware Of Time Zone Differences

Check the time zones before making phone calls. If you are on the east coast and call an employer on the west coast, at 10:00 a.m. your time, it is only 7:00 a.m. his time. And, if you are in a western state and make an evening call at 9:00 pm your time, you are calling the employer who lives in an eastern state at midnight!
