Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor
Although it is mid-July, it is not too late to be looking for work for this summer. We continue to receive emails from campground owners and others with immediate openings. Positions are out there, both for now and
for next season.
Why do those who won't do it, insist on telling those who are doing it, that it can't be done?
We had a travel nurse come into the store the other day. It just happened that a hospital employee was also in the store. When the hospital worker found out the other gal was a travel
nurse, she about went ga-ga, thinking there was a possible new recruit. The travel nurse was here on vacation only, not looking for a job. But, it certainly showed the shortage of nurses for short-term assignments. Nurse friends tell me it is this way all over the USA.
Thank you for helping us spread the word about Workers On Wheels. We appreciate the mentions you've given us on forums and the
website links you've posted. Thanks, too, for telling other RVers and business owners about our services when you are visiting with them in person.
Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,
Coleen

Working RVer Tip - At Job Interview, Ask and Answer
Job interviews are a two-way street. Most people think of them as the employer asking the
questions and the employee answering. However, they are also a time when the employee should be asking questions – and listening to the answers.

Work Camping - What Does It Mean to
You?
Work camping … just what is it all about to you? "It should be a chance to meet people across the country and travel to enjoy life," says KC, one of our working while RVing readers. He was writing me about what campground owners expect from their RV workers, and how it all fits in with the lifestyle. The thing is, this lifestyle doesn't mean the same to everyone.
So, what does
it mean to YOU?

Working RVer Tip - Creative
Thinking is Not Always an Asset
"Thinking outside the box" is a good thing, right? Not necessarily.
When it comes to jobs, employers may want you to do something the way they've always done it. Even if your new, creative way is faster, cheaper, or easier, the employer can expect you to do
his way.
Likewise if you are running a business. Your "thinking outside the box" may cost you. Coming up with creative ways to do things may be fun. Doing things the tried and true way may be profitable. Sometimes it pays to do things in ways that are proven to work.

Working RVer Tip - Hospitals Employ Non-Medical
Staff
Hospitals employ numerous people who aren't in the health care field: clerical, food service, maintenance, janitorial, fitness, security, childcare, etc. Check hospital websites to see what positions they are advertising.

Working RVers Share Their Experiences
Who are your fellow working RVers and just what are they doing? Here are a few words from some of them. Follow the blue links to the website to find out more about who they are, what they are doing, where they are doing it, and why they do it. Photos, too.
~ The Traveling McGrews: Everywhere we go, we do what needs to be done -- yard clean-up, painting, picking rock, caretaking of others horses, housekeeping, baking the famous pecan pie, walnut pie, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, etc. This is what we love to do, and then ride when the work is done.
~ Teresa & Mark Gall: Moy Mo Da Yo has a tennis court, volleyball, horse shoes, beach with a swimming float, hiking trails, and more. We run all facets of the facility. We manage the day-to-day operations, which include office, boat inspections, security, and more. The sunsets
here are gorgeous. When the sun goes down on the lake it makes a beautiful view to behold.
~ Terry Regennitter: I am a heritage craft and trade demonstrator and participate in
many events as I travel. Florida in the winter, and north during the summer. I am a member of S.W.E.A.T., the Society of Workers of Early Arts and Crafts.
~ Charles and Rondie: We left Lowe's corporation two weeks ago for a new
start. We are taking temporary time off of the traveling and store rebuilds and the long hours and stress. Now we are in heaven, in Santa Fe, NM. This is like a 6-month vacation with pay, working just a few hours a day.

Earning a Living with a Travel
Website
Make travel your business. Write about the place -- or kind of places -- that fascinates you.
Here are some
examples:
~ Are you on an RVing mission to visit every national park? Create a website about all those glorious national park lands.
~ If
you travel to dog show, after dog show -- why not do a website directory about them?
~ Do you spend winters RVing in Mexico? You have the first hand knowledge and experience to do a profitable website cluing your fellow RVers in on how to do it. And, to take non-RVers who envy you on an armchair
trip.
~ Would you be happy to go fishing every day? Build a website about your favorite fishing holes, tell folks about that new tackle and how well it worked (or didn't).
Share your passion. Share your knowledge. Enjoy the tax write-off benefits. And, you can earn a decent living from it.

Working RVer Tip - Omit Your Weaknesses
Leave your weaknesses out of your Work Wanted ad. There's no reason to tell potential
employers your problems, your mistakes, your lack of experience, or your lack of skills. Instead, focus on what makes you a desirable employee.
