Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Helping from the Heart: Genuine helping from the heart lands an RVer on her way to Alaska an unexpected job offer (and free breakfast). It's an awesome little story, with lessons about kindness and character. Read it on our website.

Bob and I are on our way to Alaska now. However, the story above is not about us. If you skipped over it, go back and read it.

As I've gotten to know Heidi better over the years, her story is not surprising. It is, however, inspiring and heartwarming.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Being Familiar with the Area Is a Plus for the Job

If you are familiar with the area where you are applying for work, be sure to mention it. Especially for campground jobs and other positions in the tourism industry, it is helpful if you already know what there is to see and do in an area, where the best places are to eat and shop, and where to find services.

Working RVer Tip - Speak Up Regarding Your Ties to the Community

Do you have a connection to an area that will bring you back to it for more than one season? If so, be sure to put that on your resume or job application, or to let prospective employers know about it. If you do a good job this year, employers like knowing that you may be available next year or sometime in the future.

Working RVer Tip - Your RV Should Match the RV Park

You'll have better luck finding a campground or RV resort job if your rig is a match for the park. RV resorts that cater to fancy Class A motorhomes want (and may require) that you also have a newer motor coach. On the other hand, some parks are compressed and spaces are small. There, you'd do better to have a shorter, small RV. In fact, they may simply not have room for a 40-foot diesel pusher on the sites reserved for work campers.
