Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

I'm having trouble getting my work done. I look out my motorhome window.... Oh, see that cute baby bunny! WOW, have you ever seen a bluebird that blue? Look! Wild turkeys! Those squirrels are sure busy. That woodpecker is making quite the racket. What are those itty-bitty little birds? Deer! Over there. And so it goes....

We are staying at a friend's farm for a few days, near Rapid City, South Dakota. We get to park in machinery row, among the antique farm equipment, in the trees. We've spent much of the past few weeks visiting family and friends, and I've gotten behind on my work. It is quiet and peaceful here, a perfect place to write and catch-up. Except for the distractions from the wildlife...but you know I love watching them!

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

JR Watkins - A Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been selling JR Watkins products since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. The business is extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. No minimum orders. They'll drop-ship the products for you. Work the business wherever your RV travels take you -- USA or Canada. See the product catalog and learn more.

Working RVer Tip - Contracts Aren't for Everyone

Rather than requiring a written contract that spells out your specific job duties, go into the job with an attitude of flexibility. If you are willing to do what needs doing, a reputable employer will treat you right. And, a less than scrupulous employer probably isn't going to honor a written contract, anyway.

We sit at the lodge having coffee, watching all the people at work. We start counting and making note of the various jobs. This lodge hires someone to do everything from bookwork to clam shelling, bartending to painting.

Working RVer Tip - It Is Easier to Teach Skills than Attitude

Work Wanted Ads and Resumes

What's the difference?

Your Work Wanted ad should be about the employer, not about you. Let the employer know how you can help him solve his needs. What can you do for him? Use it to attract employer's attention. Keep it short.

Your resume is about you. It's a longer (a page instead of a paragraph) document highlighting your relevant education, experience, and accomplishments.

You may post either or both on the Workers On Wheels website with no charge to you. Please submit them using the web form.

Employers, Business Owners, and Volunteer Coordinators: Find RVers looking for work. There's no cost to you for this service. Work Wanted ads and worker resumes.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work. Still, you have to figure out a way to make money with it. If you'd like to see some examples of how of how others are going about it, see the case studies on SiteBuildIt!

Working RVer Tip - Get Your Hair Done

Before going on the job interview, or showing up for work that first day, get your hair done. A trim, or a cut and style, can up your self-confidence and give you an edge.
