Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

The Help Wanted ads we're posting on the Workers On Wheels website now have clickable website links and email addresses. This should make it easier for you to reply to the ads. We aren't going back and changing the hundreds of job listings that were posted prior to making the change. But, you should see it on those we've posted so far this month.

Another change to the job listings is that more of them include dates. All of the Help Wanted ads on the January through April pages went up this year -- 2016. However, some folks had questions about it. We hope this change clarifies that the ads are current.

Bob and I are still in southern Texas. Bob's been out on a shrimping boat. We've had dental work done in Mexico. We've been feasting on local seafood and Mexican food. We've enjoyed our time at Port Isabel Park Center RV Park, taking in park activities, catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones.

We'll most likely be moving on sometime within the next few days. I can't tell you where we are going. We haven't decided.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Rig Modifications

Modify your rig to make it more suitable for the work you are doing. Add accessories and equipment that makes your job easier. For instance, we added a solar system so we can comfortably park and work at flea markets and caretaking properties where they don't have electrical hook-ups. In one RV we removed the couch and built in a computer desk. In another, we removed the couch and built in a floor to ceiling storage closet.

Working While RVing Questions Answered

Doing Research Work While Full-time RVing

A librarian interested in doing research work while full-time RVing writes: You mention "Researcher" in the Workers On Wheels Newsletter. I'm a librarian at a research university and would love to do research. Since you mentioned it, I wondered if you knew any company that might be hiring researchers.

My reply: My personal experience doing research has been through a temp agency. My assignments were going to the court house and researching various documents to verify information.

For a completely different type of research, my brother-in-law did seasonal work with potatoes at an ag school (university).

Working RVer Tip - Neat Looks Newer

If you have an older recreational vehicle, you may be able to get around an age restriction if the outside is neat and clean. Neat means that you do not have stuff piled on top, or hanging on the front, back, or sides.
