Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We are on the move. Two months in Port Isabel, Texas, have been great. But, there are so many other great places to see and explore.

Tip for getting the job: Tell the employer what you can do, emphasizing your strong points -- rather than rambling on about you lack of experience and lack of skills.

Tip for keeping the job: Do the work your employer wants done, the way he wants it done -- rather than doing what you think should be done.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

JR Watkins - A Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been selling JR Watkins products since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. The business is extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. No minimum orders. They'll drop-ship the products for you. Work the business wherever your RV travels take you -- USA or Canada. See the product catalog and learn more.

Working RVer Tip -- Participate In Campground Activities

Take part in the workplace social life. Attend the work camper pot-luck. Lend a hand at the ice-cream social, even if you aren't on official duty. Go to camper talent night and sing along with the group. These activities make you visible. They help you bond with other workers, the customers, and the management.

Use What You Have: Involve Yourself in Creating Your Opportunity

Use what you have to do what you can. Use your tools and your talents. Like the guy with the chainsaw…or the one with a printing press. Opportunities present themselves wherever you are. Make yourself available and your interests and abilities known.

Working RVer Tip -- Match Your Volunteer Efforts to Your Interests

When looking for a volunteer position, look to organizations that deal with issues you are concerned about or that are of special interest to you. Members of fraternal organizations might volunteer for a special chapter project. Aviation enthusiasts, look to aviation museums. If you love kids and sports, check out summer youth programs. Many non-profits can use your help, not just parks. And, many of them have -- or can find you -- a rent-free place to park your RV.
