Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Bob and I are in southern Texas. We're back at Park Center RV Park in Port Isabel. We're likely here until after the first of the year. Although we've been here several times before, this is the first time we've gotten here before Christmas. We chose a waterfront site this year. It costs extra, but it is so pretty and so peaceful.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

JR Watkins - A Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been selling JR Watkins products since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. The business is extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. No minimum orders. They'll drop-ship the products for you. Work the business wherever your RV travels take you -- USA or Canada. See the product catalog and learn more.

Working RVer Tip -- Gratuities Can Make the Job Lucrative

With customer service jobs, the money you get in tips can easily be more than your wages. Tips make up a good part of the income for tour guides, bus drivers, hunting and fishing guides, restaurant staff, water taxi drivers, deck hands, housekeepers, entertainers, pizza delivery drivers, and beauticians.

Read about Other Working RVers

A good way to get some ideas of what you may want to do -- and be able to do -- is by reading about what other RVers are doing. Here are the stories of RVers who are property caretakers, softball umpires, teachers, campground workers, entertainers, writers, vendors, musicians, handymen, and more.

Working RVer Tip -- Spell Things Out for Clear Communication

Abbreviations and acronyms shorten up your Work Wanted and Help Wanted advertisements, and your resumes. They also make them more difficult to understand. You may be surprised to find out just how many people who live in recreational vehicles or work in (or own) campgrounds don't know the short hand that you take for granted. And, some have more than one meaning. "MH" is a good example -- it is used for both "motorhome" and "mobile home." For clear communications, spell out the words the first time you use them in your ad, such as "full hook up (FHU)."
