Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We're continuing to enjoy the fun and festivities from Betty's RV Park in Abbeville, Louisiana. If you follow along with our travels, you know that we are foodies, and it will come as no surprise to you that we are feasting on fresh seafood and Cajun specialties here is southern Louisiana. But, that's not the only reason we like this area. The Cajun people are among the friendliest and most welcoming that we've ever seen. We're drawn to the Cajun music, too. Yesterday, between a trip to Meche's Donuts and the campground happy hour, we managed to get in a group outing. Most of us went to a jam session at Calvin Touchet's Bar (locally referred to as 2-checks) in Maurice, LA.

Remember in between newsletters, you can find announcements, website updates, and the newest job postings here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Follow Application Instructions

When applying for a job, follow the instructions in the ad and on the application. It shows you can – and are willing to – follow directions. Additionally, there's likely a specific reason for them. For example, if it tells you to make contact by email, it could be that the employer wants to see your written communication skills.

You've heard the saying, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it." But envisioning the dream is only half the equation. The other half is taking the action steps needed to turn the dream into reality. Get going! You don't need to know your final destination. You don't need to know the exact route you'll take. But, you do need to start.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered - Working Under the Table

~~ An anonymous RVer asks: Do RV parks pay cash? I would like to know if some RV parks/campgrounds will pay some cash money, so I don`t mess up my SSI. Do you know? Some of the fellow RVers say they do, but I can`t find them.

~~ I answered in part: I at first thought you were asking if you could get an hourly wage working at an RV park or campground.

Just how prevalent is the practice? I've had three people ask about it in the past week or so. Two of them hadn't recently been to the website so they weren't copycat questions. Post your comments.

~~ Read the longer version of my answer on the website -- along with comments from our readers. More here.

Positive RVing Attitudes

Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry. ~ Mark Twain

The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were. ~ John F. Kennedy
