Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Late September, Bob and I are embarking on a new adventure. We're taking a trip on the Alaska Marine Highway. If you'd like to follow along -- there's no cost to you -- sign up for our RV and Life and Travel E-zine.

Working RVer Tip - Networking Takes Time

Most every job coach will tell you that you'll find the best jobs via networking. They may, however, forget to tell you how much time networking takes. You'll need to decide if participating in online discussion boards, attending group meetings, and volunteering on committees is worth the time it takes or not.

The Natural and Organic Jerky Meat Snack Business

Join me in the jerky meat snack business. No theory. No hype. You sell jerky, you make a commission. You bring in others who regularly eat or sell the jerky, and you get a commission from their orders, too. Enroll on my team before 8 pm Central time August 31 and I'll send you TWO free packages of jerky. (I set a high goal for myself and am a little short, so I am bribing!) To watch the video and get started, click through here.

Working RVer Tip - Make Your RV Work Friendly

Modify your RV to make it better for your work. Add a desk. Turn a bunk room into a work room. Add solar so you don't need an electric hook-up. Remove the couch and build a storage cabinet in its place. Turn the cargo area of a toy hauler into a work station. Modify according to the work you do.

Working RVer Tip - Discuss Your Compensation
  • Be prepared to discuss the compensation that comes with the job. Ask questions.
  • How many hours will you work?
  • What kind of work will you do?
  • How -- and how much -- will you be compensated?
  • What are the perks and non-wage benefits (and what are they worth to you)?
  • When, and how often, will you be paid?
  • What will be withheld from your wages in the line of taxes and government mandated deductions?
  • Are extra paid hours available?
  • Will extra houses, even with pay, be required?
  • Is an RV parking site part of the compensation package or is it a job requirement?
  • Who pays for which utilities?
  • Is there an end of contract completion bonus?
This is not a comprehensive list. But, it is enough to get the discussion started.
