Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Bob and I are working and playing in the Branson, Missouri, area.

We spent much of Thursday and Friday at Silver Dollar City. The theme park hires about 1500 employees. Some workers shared incredible skills -- glass blowing and precision sand cast aluminum molding. Others performed vital jobs of a more general nature -- picking up litter and cleaning the bathrooms. One thing I noticed there is that the workers come in all shapes and sizes. Ages varied greatly, also.

Are you in the Branson area? Would you like to get together and chat a bit?

Bob and I are hosting coffee and donuts at the campground rec hall on Wednesday, December 16, from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. We are at Turkey Creek RV Village, just over the bridge into Hollister. The address is 1376 Business US 65, Hollister. There's an angel by the driveway. We'll be there to meet and greet, swap stories, and get to know one another a little better. If you think you will attend, I'd appreciate an RSVP email -- we want to make sure we have enough donuts! However, you are welcome to drop in at the last minute. Come and go as it fits your schedule. It will be informal.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

P.S. When I mentioned that Bob was resealing our motorhome roof, some asked about the process and products he was using. I was able to get him to take pictures and tell about it. It's posted on our RV-Life-and-Travel.com site.

Working RVer Tip - Participating in Campground Activities

When considering a campground job, inquire about the socialization aspects of it. Are you welcome to participate in guest activities? Are you required to participate in guest activities?

Did You Miss the Last Workers On Wheels Newsletter?

It's the one dated November 9, 2015. That was a mistake, of course. The midweek issue that went out a few days ago, Issue #1042, should have had December 9, 2015 on it.

Read it here.

Tip for Campground Owners Looking for Workers

Clearly list your job duties and requirements. Vague terms such as, "usual host duties," do not tell the RVer what you expect. An RV cannot know if he is able or willing to do the work you need done if he doesn't know what you want. "Light duties" is another phrase that will like cause problems, because you and the worker are going to interpret it differently.

Working RVer Tip - Be Timely

Show up for work on time. Sometimes it is the most basic of things we forget or get sloppy about, and that bosses notice the most. Being on time for work is one of those things.
