Bob has a new job this week. He's fixing and renovating the new-to-us motorhome that we bought. We left Alaska this fall without an RV, instead taking an SUV on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry. One of the first things we did after getting back on land was to start looking for an RV to buy. Specifically, we wanted a small motorhome, one that was inexpensive enough that we
could pay for it with cash. We knew that meant an older one, probably one that would need some work. We found and bought a 22-foot, 1987 Class C Lazy Daze. As I write this newsletter, Bob's on the roof, tightening screws, removing old putty, and getting ready to reseal the roof.
We are currently in Rapid City, South Dakota. It seems every business in town has "Now Hiring" or "Help Wanted" signs.
We're seeing hand printed signs on business doors and taped to the wall inside the business. Many marquees have "Now Hiring" along with the specials they are promoting. Franchise stores have the same professional posters out that we saw in other areas. Receipts have job information on them, with instructions to apply online or call the number on the receipt. One restaurant has special business cards that are actually mini-employment billboards.
Something else I noticed here is that the newspaper has an employment chart. It lists the businesses that are running Help Wanted ads. It shows the job title, whether full or part-time, and other key information. It makes it easy to see at a glance what jobs are available.
All of the job openings in this issue were posted within the last
couple days.

Working RVer Bill Shares His Experiences -- Buying and Selling Used Computers
~ Bill writes: I have a high dollar skill. I can buy a computer at a yard sale, for maybe $20. Then I can scrub the data, clean it up, upgrade from my massive salvage parts inventory, and resell for $100 to $150. High net for several hours effort. If I sell two of these a week,
it is about $1000 per month. = = = = =Earn Your Living with a Blog or WebsiteA blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work.

~ Myrtle writes: As a sales person, I learned
from the beginning, I do not have to speak negative of the competitor's products. I only have to present myself in appropriate attire and with a professional attitude, tactfully find out the prospective client's needs, know my product well, tout its features and benefits according to the client's needs, answer all his questions as positively as possible, and then let the chips fall where they may. If I've done my job well, I'll wind up with the sale.
Another Location Independent Business for RVers
Bob and I have been working with the Watkins since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin
care products - and that makes it easy to sell. It's extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. And, you can work the business wherever your RV travels take you. Find out more.
