Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We have a lot of new subscribers, and we've recently received some questions about how to use the newsletter and website. We normally send out two e-zines a week. The weekend edition has a mix of job notices, working RVer tips, links to website articles, answers to questions about working while RVing, info to help you find work that that is right for you, resource referrals, and RV-based business help. The mid-week edition is usually limited to updates of the newest job postings.

With either, the jobs posted in the newsletters are just some of the newest ones we've received. They are by no means all of the job listings. There are hundreds of Help Wanted ads on the Workers On Wheels websites.

While we only put the job headline in the newsletters, the entire Help Wanted ad is on the website. When you click on the blue headline link, it will take you to all the information we have about that particular job. Some of the employers provide extensive details about the job, information about the community, and include pictures. Others have very brief listings. All of them should contain contact information.

Remember, in between newsletters, you can find the newest job postings here.

Thank you for all the anniversary wishes and congratulatory notes. The closeness RVing affords us is definitely good for us.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

The Jerky Business that Lets You Be Location Independent

Campground jobs are convenient, if you want to stay in one place for a month or longer. But, if your desire is to be truly nomadic and to move frequently, you need something else. One location independent way to earn a living is to join me in Jerky Direct. Natural and organic jerky. No sign-up fee. No website fee. Our training is specific, practical, and RVer tested.

Another Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been working with this respected home business since 2005, though the company has been around since 1868 (yes, more than 140 years!). People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. It's extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want -- no monthly minimums. And, you can work the business wherever your RV travels take you. Find out more.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work. Still, you have to figure out a way to make money with it. If you'd like to see some examples of how of how others are going about it, see the case studies on SiteBuildIt!

Reader Questions

Acceptability of Older RVs

Q.     We are thinking about buying an older RV to use for full-timing, but worry that it will keep us from being hired at jobs that provide a site. Have you had that problem or know if it exists?

A.      The neatness of your RV is much more important than the age of it. This goes for what is visible on the inside, also. If it is obvious that you have massive piles of stuff inside, it is a logical assumption that when you park, those piles will end up outside, creating a messy site. The less overflow you have on the outside of the rig, the better--i.e. storage boxes, bicycles, a grill on the bumper, and lawn chairs on the roof all add to a messy appearance that could cause problems.

Our first full-timing trailer was 25 years old when we bought it. We lived in it for several years. Most of that time, we were working jobs that included on-site parking. The age of our trailer was never a concern in finding work.

We have a question and answer section on our website with hundreds of pages. You'll find them by clicking here.
