Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Oh, boy, do we still have a lot of educating to do! I heard from one of our readers this week who wrote, "all of the jobs for RVers sounded alike." That tells me we need to do a better job of educating people about the work options.

We've recently posted openings for oil field gate guards, property caretakers, custom grain harvest crew workers, people to run mobile laundry services, Christmas tree lot managers, working the sugar beet harvest, ranch hands to care for horses, people to put up Christmas decorations, cooks, and the list goes on.

Even the jobs at campgrounds and RV parks vary considerably -- store clerks, yard maintenance, office staff, housekeeping, etc. Additionally, we've posted about running a business from your RV, doing fundraising, flea market vending, working craft shows, selling at home parties, and building a network marketing business, and a host of other work.

On the website, we have info on employment with temp staffing service that includes everything from high tech "rocket science" jobs to day labor to travel nurses. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of what is available.

We'll keep on trying to get the word out that there's work available. Lots of it and many different kinds.

Remember, in between newsletters, you can find the newest job postings here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip

When calculating how much you make from your job, take into account the cost of fuel on your daily commute. If you are staying at a campground where you walk to work, you don't have that expense. The savings should be a consideration when looking at the total compensation and benefits package of a job. ~~ Thanks Jane C. for this tip.

The Jerky Business that Lets You Be Location Independent

Campground jobs are convenient, if you want to stay in one place for a month or longer. But, if your desire is to be truly nomadic and to move frequently, you need something else. One location independent way to earn a living is to join me in Jerky Direct. Natural and organic jerky. No sign-up fee. No website fee. Our training is specific, practical, and RVer tested.

Be careful of the abbreviations you use. Example: POS may mean "Point of Sale" to you, but to someone else, it may have a completely different -- and not so nice -- meaning.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work. Still, you have to figure out a way to make money with it. If you'd like to see some examples of how of how others are going about it, see the case studies on SiteBuildIt!

Working RVer Tip

What a difference perspective makes. When dealing with full-time RVers, a job that lasts six months to a year, may be considered a "long term commitment." With non-RVers, they may view a year as a not sticking to the job very long.

Another Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been working with this respected home business since 2005, though the company has been around since 1868 (yes, more than 140 years!). People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. It's extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want -- no monthly minimums. And, you can work the business wherever your RV travels take you.
