Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Working RVers work at all sorts of places. They do all sorts of jobs. A few RVers work at campgrounds. Most RVers who are earning their living while full-timing work elsewhere.

Good news for solo RVers who want to work at campgrounds. Campground owners are realizing that not all RV workers are part of a couple. Look through the Help Wanted ads, and you'll see they are now indicating open positions for RVing singles, as well as RVing couples. There have always been jobs for individuals. The change I'm seeing is that park owners are becoming more aware of the single RVer workforce.

Remember, in between newsletters, you can find the newest job postings here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip

Look for the kind of work you want at the places you want to work. If you want to work at campgrounds, go to campgrounds. If you want to work flea markets, go to flea markets. If you want to work for a fall harvest crew, go to the area where they are harvesting.

The Jerky Business that Lets You Be Location Independent

Campground jobs are convenient, if you want to stay in one place for a month or longer. But, if your desire is to be truly nomadic and to move frequently, you need something else. One location independent way to earn a living is to join me in Jerky Direct. Natural and organic jerky. No sign-up fee. No website fee. Our training is specific, practical, and RVer tested.

Working RVer Tip

Community job fairs can be excellent places to find seasonal work. I am not referring to job fairs specifically for campgrounds or for job fairs targeted to RVers. Just the ordinary job fairs that are for the general public. Employers at those events are looking for seasonal workers in construction, healthcare, the hospitality industry, retail sales, agricultural jobs, the tourism industry, and energy related fields.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work. Still, you have to figure out a way to make money with it. If you'd like to see some examples of how of how others are going about it, see the case studies on SiteBuildIt!

Working RVer Tip

Spell things out for clear communication. Abbreviations and acronyms shorten up your Work Wanted and Help Wanted advertisements, and your resumes. They also make them more difficult to understand. You may be surprised to find out just how many people who live in recreational vehicles or work in (or own) campgrounds don't know the short hand that you take for granted. "FHU" is a good example. It really should be spelled out as "full hook up (FHU)" the first time you use it in your communications.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Short Term Jobs That Allow for Frequent Travel

~~ Jim asks: Are there work camper jobs for short time commitments? If so, where can I find them? There are so many work camper jobs, but all I have seen go against our full timing goal, which is to travel. Thanks.

~~ My reply: Yes, there are jobs that allow RVers to move often. Some not only allow frequent travel, but require it. Read more about this, including specific suggestions, on our website.
