Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

I visit with numerous employers. When they talk about what they look for in employees, they talk fundamentals. They are looking for people who are neat and clean. Who are honest. Who are dependable and will show up to work when scheduled. They look for people who smile and who seem happy. They want workers who will do the job they hire them to do.

Employers rarely talk about college education. They seldom mention how fast an employee works. They don't stress the importance of years of experience. Certainly, some jobs have formal qualifications. Having the required training, degrees, and certifications can lead to jobs that simply aren't available otherwise. But meeting those qualifications is only part of what gets a person hired. And, it seems, those formal qualifications are only a small part of being a success on the job.

We post more Help Wanted ads on the website than what we feature in the newsletters. There just isn't room to put them all in an email. If you are not going to the Workers On Wheels website monthly job listings pages, you are missing out. You can find the newest job postings on our website by clicking here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Upgrade Your Job Qualifications

Get additional training or certification that improves your job qualifications. It might be an adult education class or a community college course. You can complete some in just a few sessions. Or, attend a workshop or convention that offers certification or continuing education credits. You can also find on-line courses so that you don't need to interrupt your travel schedule. Continuing education also shows prospective employers that you have initiative and that you want to improve yourself.
