Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Keep a journal of your work and travels. It can come in handy for tax purposes, providing written documentation of travel expenses and business expenses. It's also a good way to keep track of employment dates, names of supervisors, and job duties.

Besides the work related benefits, we simply enjoy looking back through them. I make sure to note the name of the town and state where we sleep each night. On this date in 2010, we were in Onoway, Alberta, Canada, heading south for the winter. In 1993, we were at a flea market in Baxter, Tennessee. We were staying there longer than planned, waiting for the arrival of my first computer.

Be sure to check the job postings on both the October and November pages. Those jobs that came in prior to Saturday are on the October page. In between newsletters, you can find the newest job postings here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip

Visit the park's website before applying for a job. If it isn't listed in the ad, then try a search for it. The website can tell you a lot about the campground. It may answer many of your questions. Being familiar with the park's website before you make contact will also let the owner know you are taking some initiative.

This tip comes from a WOW website article about applying for campground jobs. Read the full article.

Working RVer Tip

What kind of people do you want to live and work with every day? If you like peace and quiet, you may not be a good fit for a campground that caters to kids. If you want to socialize with others in the park, you may feel lonely if all your neighbors are oil field workers who go off to their jobs. If you are a young family, you may feel excluded at a 55-plus resort. Ask the park owner about the atmosphere at the park and about the typical guest.
